More Meaningful Experiences

We at Fuze Camps are here to revolutionise day camp provision in the UK. For too long, many day camps have relied on traditional sports and arts activities, missing out on opportunities to create more meaningful experiences for young people.

Our day camps blend a mixture of familiar activities with our signature ‘Ignite’ immersive experiences that will encourage children to bond with each other through fun and exhilaration. After the turbulence of the global Covid pandemic and the increasing lean towards digital socialisation, creating connections with depth is more important than ever. What better way to build friendships than to share new experiences with other people?

Our child-led approach, which involves the children in the magic of activity-making, will allow them to also grow in confidence and develop skills such as: lateral thinking, leadership, communication, organisation and creativity. Additionally, all of our activities are designed to develop skills of reflectivity and self-awareness. This is achieved through an emphasis on choice and freedom throughout the day, as well as a feedback structure that allows children to share their responses directly with us as staff.

IGNITE!

Ignite activities are whole-camp immersive activities based on pop culture references that we know will excite and engage children of all ages. Each day, we use props, sound, and lateral thinking to create an activity that mirrors something children may always have wanted to try, such as: participating in the Triwizard Tournament from Harry Potter, being a part of a Mythological ‘camp’ like in Percy Jackson or taking part in a TV game show such as ‘Taskmaster’.

Each day, some older children are selected in the morning to be a part of planning and developing these activities. Then, the whole afternoon is dedicated to everyone on camp taking part in these activities (usually in teams). The unique nature of these activities will encourage children to bond through their participation and contribution, and inspire children to apply this creative and lateral-thinking approach to their lives outside of camp.

Please see Our Activities section for a provisional timetable and explanation of each activity.
